Day 134

This morning after seeing the elder barbarians off to the Halls of Learning, the littlest barbarian and I had to visit the Medicine Woman at Halls of Medicine. It was a humbling visit to be truthful. This at dinner two days past, the littlest barbarian made a game of how much sweet sticky pudding she could pack into the caverns of her sinuses.

It took no small amount of effort that evening to remove the pudding. Yesterday, the littlest barbarian was like some vile slug, leaving trails of mucous everywhere she went. For the most part, her excretions were clear and I was unconcerned. To be honest, most barbarians I have observed are continuous and prodigious producers of vile excretions of one sort or another.

I became concerned this morning when her mucous began to take on the color of dandelions. Of course, by the time we were called back to the Medicine Woman, the littlest barbarian's nose had mostly dried up. The Medicine Woman inspected the barbarian's nose (and her ears just in case) and declared the littlest barbarian the picture of good health. A wasted trip to the Halls of Medicine, but not a wasted morning entirely.

As we were leaving the Halls of Medicine to rejoin the caravan heading for home, we saw another researcher and two of the barbarians from her settlement. Her littlest one had an appointment with one of the Medicine People, but her other young one was merely along for the ride. There are five barbarians in the other researcher's settlement and I cannot imagine...

I offered to take the older of her pair home with me on the caravan and mind her at our settlement until she had finished with her appointment. Her youngest barbarian is just a couple months younger that mine and I can remember juggling my elder pair when one had a wellness visit.

The littlest barbarian quite enjoyed having a visitor for the morning and the two of them played quite nicely despite the age gap. In all it was quite a nice day and after the appointment I had a good visit with my fellow researcher. It's always nice to share notes.
